Biographical data
Szülei Csányi Ödön ügyvéd és Sztankovics Edit tanítónő. A rendbe 1949. augusztus 29-én lépett be. 1950. szeptember 5-én másik 19 fiatal ciszterci szerzetessel hagyta el az országot, és sikeresen Rómába jutott, ahol doktorált. Tanulmányait a Pontifico Ateneo e Collegio Sant’ Anselmo (Róma); Pontificia Università Gregoriana (Róma); École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem; Pontificio Istituto Biblico (Róma) végezte. Közben első fogadalmát 1950. június 22-én, örökfogadalmát 1954. január 1-jén tett le. Pappá szentelte Paulus Rusch innsbrucki apostoli adminisztrátor a Stams-i apátsági templomban 1954. június 29-én. Első miséjét Mariazellben, 1954. július 4-én végezte el. 1959-től élt az Egyesült Államokban. 1977 után kilépett a rendből és megnősült. Kilépése után a Fort Wayne – South Bend, IN egyházmegyében teljesített, mint lelkipásztori munkatárs szolgálatot. A Hittani Kongregáció 461/76 számú, 1976. május 21-én kelt dekrétuma visszahelyezte a laikus státuszba. 1996-ban vonult nyugállományba.
