Biographical data
Bali János SBD öccse. 1915–ben lépett be a rendbe, majd a gimnázium elvégzése után 1920–21–ben Ensdorfban volt novicius. 1926–tól Torinoban végezte a teológiát. 1929–ben szentelték pappá, majd 1932–ben Braziliába küldték a magyarok pasztorációjára. Megtört egészsége miatt 1937–ben tért haza Magyarországra. A szerzetesrendek betiltása után az egri főegyházmegyében szolgált. Utolsó szolgálati helyén felújította a templomot és a plébániát, Az ünnepség után pár nappal rosszul lett, s kórházba szállítás közben a mentőautóban elhunyt. A magyar szalézi rend nekrológja szerint: Alsóságon született, Úrnapján. Bizonyára bátyja példáját követve került a Cavagliából Szentkeresztre átköltözött szalézi Intézetbe, ahol 1915-bem kezdte a gimnáziumot. 1920–1921-ben Ensdorfban kezdte meg a noviciátust. 1926 őszén elöljárói Torinóba küldik teológiára. 1929-ben szentelték pappá. Bátor és kemény elhatározással vállalkozik a brazíliai kivándorolt, óriási területen szétszórtan élő magyarok pasztorálására (1932–1937). Megtört egészsége miatt öt év után képtelen folytatni e munkát. Hazaérve a Mezőnyárádon megnyílt noviciátusba kerül, a következő évtől novíciusmester (1938–1944). A Segítő Szűz zarándoklattal a környék híveit is megmozgatta. Nyolc évig volt Borsodnádasdon plébános. Onnan nehéz terepre helyezték át: a Tiszakanyarba. Fiatalos lendülettel, kemény fizikai munkát is végzett kertjében, hogy a megélhetés gondjait is megoldja. Ajtaja, szíve mindenki előtt és mindig nyitva állt. 1973-ban került Vécsre. Hívei csodálták és tisztelték az idős atyát, aki a hősi négy év alatt a plébánia épületet és a templomot helyre hozta. A megújult templom volt a hattyúdala. Az ünnepség után néhány napra az érte jött mentőkocsiban, a falu közepén szíve megszűnt dobogni.
