Biographical data
Szülei Barta Ferencz és Újházi Verona voltak, hét testvére volt. Édesapja cibakházi, édesanyja kőszegi származású volt. A ciszterci rendbe Zircen lépett be, 1914. augusztus 29-én. 1921. július 31-én szentelték pappá. Klasszika-filológiát és franciát tanult.. A bajai gimnázium részére a Sugovica-ág mellett csónakházat, fürdőt létesített. 1951 szept.-ben a bányafúró vállalatnál dolgozott, de továbbra is az olaszfalusi plébánián lakott. Az ötvenes években letartóztatták, s 14 évet kapott a népi demokrácia elleni összeesküvésért. 1956-ban szabadult, s ekkor elhagyta az országot. Halálának oka stroke volt. Baján nevét utca viseli.
Notes
Sírja korábban a Calvary Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum-ban volt, Dallas, TX-ban, majd 2017-ben áthelyezték az Irving, TX-i apátsági mauzóleumba.
