Biographical data
His father was Gábor Artimovics, a Greek Catholic priest, and his mother was Julianna Lakatos. His wife was Irén Kallók, whom he married in Rakóc on October 21, 1879. They had seven children.
He was a student at the Cistercian High School in Eger in 1870, where he received a reward of 4 forints and 20 krajcár.
He completed his theological studies in Ungvár. He was ordained a priest by Bishop János Kovács of Munkács on December 3, 1879.
He arrived in the United States on February 5, 1904, on the ship Blucher, which had departed from Cuxhaven.
