Biographical data
His father was Gábor Csopey, a priest, and his mother was Juliánna Karolina Pulszky. He was the brother of Gábor Csopey. His wife was Paulina Suba; they had one daughter. He pursued his theological studies in Uzhhorod. On December 11, 1898, he was ordained a priest by Gyula Firczák, Bishop of Munkács. From 1912, he served as a member of the Holy See Council; from 1925 to 1938, he was dean of the Scranton deanery.
