Biographical data
He attended elementary school in Gyarmat; in 1931, he began his high school studies at the Benedictine high school in Pápa, and in his sophomore year, he transferred to the Benedictine high school in Kőszeg. In 1939, he joined the Divine Word Missionaries (Verbites) and completed his studies at the order’s college in Mödling, near Vienna. In 1941, he became a student at the Pázmáneum, and from 1943, he studied in Szeged and served as assistant cantor at the Vow Church. Meanwhile, he also trained as a military chaplain and a cooper. In 1945, he went to Austria to study, and was ordained a priest in 1946. He was summoned by state security agencies on numerous occasions, and in 1951, his license to teach religion was revoked. In 1956, he was a member of the National Revolutionary Council and the Transdanubian Revolutionary Council in Győr. He left the country on November 13, 1956. In 1971, he founded the Argentine Hungarian Catholic Association with five parishes. In 1979, he founded the Mindszentynum in Buenos Aires. He wrote about the Kodály method in numerous books, organized many concerts, and composed a Mass-oratorio. He served as a missionary throughout Argentina. Due to severe diabetes, he returned to Hungary in 1996.
