Biographical data
His father was János Dunda, a schoolteacher, and his mother was Erzsébet Sztáraszta. He graduated from high school with honors in 1929. He holds doctorates in the humanities and theology. He continued his theological studies in Rome. He was ordained a priest while still unmarried on October 18, 1931, by Greek Bishop Isaias Papadopoulos. He served as a consistorial councilor from 1940 and became a papal chaplain on November 29, 1964. He served as chaplain to the Sisters of St. Basil the Great on St. Macrina Hill, as a judge on the Archdiocesan Marriage Tribunal, as president of the Liturgical Commission, and as director of the Byzantine Liturgical Music Commission. He emigrated to the United States around 1948.
