Biographical data
After graduating from elementary school, he became a locksmith’s apprentice and then an instrument-maker’s apprentice. He entered the Salesian Order in 1921. He took his first vows on August 2, 1923. After graduating from high school, he studied theology in Turin-Crocetta (Italy), where he was ordained a priest on July 5, 1931. During World War II, he performed valuable work at the Papal Nunciature in Budapest to save many persecuted people. He left the country in April 1945 in the company of the expelled Nuncio Angelo Rotta. For a short time, he served as chaplain at the Regio prison camp. He settled in Canada in 1947, but also lived in the United States on several occasions.

According to the obituary of the Hungarian Salesian Order:
After completing elementary school, he became a locksmith’s apprentice and, in 1917, an instrument-maker’s apprentice. He entered the Salesian Society in 1921 and took his vows on August 2, 1923, in Péliföldszentkereszt.
After graduating from high school, his superiors sent him to Italy. From 1927 to 1931, he studied theology in Turin-Crocetta, and on July 5, 1931, he was ordained a priest in Turin.
Upon his return, he served as a teacher in Óbuda and at the Esztergom camp; in 1933 he was in Gyula, and in 1937 in Újpest. In 1941 he was director of an institute in Rákospalota; from 1941 to 1942 he served as secretary to the provincial superior; and from 1944 to 1947 as second secretary to the nuncio.
During World War II, he performed valuable work at the Papal Nunciature to save many persecuted individuals. He left the country in April 1945 in the company of the expelled Nuncio Angelo Rotta. For a short time, he served as chaplain at the Regio prison camp.
In 1947, he left for Canada. He first served in Jaquet River, then became director in Edmonton in 1954, parish priest in 1957, and academic supervisor at the Don Bosco Technical Institute there from 1960 to 1980.
