From March 31, 1907, he was a priest of the Greek Catholic Diocese of Munkács. He was ordained by Gyula Firczák, Bishop of Munkács. After his ordination, he served in the United States. He served in the United States for nearly thirty years. During his stay in the United States, he was a leading advocate for the independence movement of the Greek-rite Ruthenians and for the Catholic faith. Upon his return, he became one of the principal organizers of the Greek Catholic parish in Buda. From 1935, he served as pastor of the Budapest-Buda parish (1935–1940). Its seat was the St. Florian Greek Catholic Parish in Buda. During his tenure, in 1937, the floor of the church was raised by 1.4 meters to prevent groundwater from flooding the church during the Danube’s frequent rises in water level. From 1935, he served as dean; from 1940 until his death, he was a canon of the Hajdúdorog Cathedral Chapter.

His Death
His early and sudden death was caused by appendicitis. On June 1, 1940, a huge crowd accompanied Buda’s first parish priest on his final journey to the Farkasrét Cemetery. His church funeral was conducted at St. Florian’s Church by Grand Provost Jenő Bányay, and his civil funeral was performed by Dr. Miklós Dudás, the diocesan bishop, with the assistance of a large number of clergy.
