Biographical data
He was born in the United States. He was a married pastor; his son, a colonel in the U.S. Army, was killed in the Vietnam War. His wife’s name was Irén, and they had four children. Their son William died a heroic death in Vietnam.
He served as a chaplain for three decades and saw action in numerous wars.
They rest in a shared grave at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
