Biographical data
Roman Catholic priest. Following the death of Ferenc Dávid, he became head of the Hungarian Catholic parish of St. Margaret of the House of Árpád in Yonker in 1960. He was appointed not as a pastor but as an administrator; the parish then came under the supervision of St. Joseph Parish. The loss of the Hungarian community’s autonomy and the threat of the church’s closure caused him serious difficulties during his ministry. He was remembered as a powerful orator. He passed away in Yonkers on September 12, 1968.
