Biographical data
His parents were Gábor Császik and Etelka Székesi; he had seven siblings.
He studied theology in Budapest as a seminarian of the Diocese of Banská Bystrica. He was ordained a priest on July 1, 1902. Between 1919 and 1921, he resided in the United States at the request of István Csernitzky, from where he was unable to return to Banská Bystrica.
He arrived in the United States on the steamship Noordam on December 10, 1919.
He served as a papal chamberlain from 1918. He was a senior government advisor from 1936. He received his doctorate from the Faculty of Theology at Pázmány Péter University in 1937.
