He was ordained a priest on June 19, 1999. He lived in Canada from 2005 to 2007. He received his habilitation in 2014 and is an extraordinary public university professor at the Postgraduate Institute of Canon Law at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. He has been an archiepiscopal councilor since 2013 and a canon since 2017. From 2014 to 2022, he served as dean of the Füzesabony Deanery, and has been dean emeritus since 2022.
