He was of American origin. He spoke Greek, Latin, Hungarian, Spanish, French, German, Croatian, Slovak, and Romanian fluently, as well as 15 other languages to some extent. He was ordained a priest on June 14, 1914.
According to Káldor, he attempted unsuccessfully to organize a Hungarian parish in St. Louis, MO. According to the MKL, he also attempted to purchase a church there for the Hungarian community, also without success. His places of service were St. Louis, Koeltztown, Martinsburg, Jackson, and New Hamburg.
