Biographical data
In other sources, his name is László. He began his seminary studies as a seminarian in the Diocese of Kaposvár, then entered the Order of Friars Minor in Vienna on February 23, 1902. In 1903, he requested a transfer to the Hungarian Province of the Order. He was ordained a priest in Budapest on October 30, 1904. In 1905, he left the order and became editor of the newspaper Független Magyarország. He arrived in the United States on the steamship Ultonia on November 14, 1906. At that time, he requested to be transferred to the American province. He was accused of moral misconduct both in Arad and in the United States, and was therefore suspended in 1912. He did not accept the suspension, but the church wardens refused to let him into the church, leading to a brawl, as a result of which they were all arrested. He was discharged from the Hungarian army in 1916. He married and became a Reformed Protestant. He worked as a leading journalist for the American Hungarian Népszava. He died suddenly of a heart attack.
