Biographical data
His father was a cantor and teacher. Beginning in 1919, he attended the Cistercian high school in Eger. From 1923, he was a minor seminarian in Esztergom, where he graduated from the Benedictine high school in 1927. As a seminarian from Esztergom, he arrived in Canada on September 28, 1928, at the request of the Archbishop of Toronto. He was ordained a priest in Canada on June 12, 1931. According to some sources, he left his post in 1939.
