Biographical data
He completed his high school studies in Banská Bystrica and Nitra. He began his theological studies in Budapest and continued them in Prague. At the request of the bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, OH, he was sent to America as a young priest fluent in Czech and Slovak, where he was ordained on June 2, 1882. Until Károly Böhm’s arrival in 1892, he ministered to both Slovak and Hungarian parishioners. He died as a result of complications from diabetes.
