Biographical data
In 1940, he joined the novitiate of the Divine Word Missionaries in Kőszeg and became a student at the local Benedictine high school. He became a novice in 1944 and took his first vows in 1946. In 1949, his entire class fled to Austria. He completed his high school studies at the St. Rupert Mission House near Salzburg, then studied at the Divine Word Missionaries’ seminary near Bonn from 1949 to 1954. He was ordained a priest in 1954. He lived in South America from 1955 to 1989. It was there that he became acquainted with the Cursillo movement, which he helped spread in Hungary after his return.
