Biographical data
His parents were István Gajdos and Erzsébet Kotykó. He began his theological studies at Pázmány Péter University, then completed them at the Benedictine college in Lisle, Illinois (USA); according to other sources, he studied at the Procopine Seminary in Chicago, IL. He was ordained a priest by Bazil Takács in 1942. He became a bishop’s advisor in 1963 and a papal prelate on October 14, 1966.
