Biographical data
His parents were István Geiszt and Teréz Kerper. He was baptized in the Cathedral of Pécs on February 6, 1893. He completed his theological studies in Budapest. On June 19, 1921, he was ordained a priest by Cardinal János Csernoch, Archbishop of Esztergom. He celebrated his first Mass in Esztergom, in the Bakócz Chapel. He served in the United States beginning in 1925. He received U.S. citizenship on September 16, 1931.
