He attended high school in Sombor and Bosnia, and studied theology in Sarajevo and Zagreb. He was ordained a priest on April 20, 1941. He was interned in 1944. Until 1949, he was held in a labor camp in Ukraine, near Kharkiv. In 1949, he left for the West, living first in West Germany, then, at an unknown date, he moved to Canada, where he was primarily involved in German-language pastoral work.
