Biographical data
He was ordained a priest on November 10, 1897. In 1913, he became a member of the Holy See. He was a married pastor; his wife was Mária, and they had five children. He played a key role in the creation of the Rusyn Cultural Garden in Cleveland’s Rockefeller Park and was also a co-founder of the Rusyn Educational Society. He supported the monthly magazine *The Leader*, published in the Rusyn language, thereby promoting the preservation of Rusyn culture and traditions. During the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, an orphanage was founded for children who had lost their parents. He also helped establish the novitiate of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great, for which he provided a ten-room house in Cleveland. His grave is located at Holy Spirit Cemetery in Parma, OH.

Literary activity
Emlékkönyv – A bárfai gör. katholikus egyház megalapításának s temploma felszentelésének alkalmából, Bártfa, 1903. Mintegy tizenkét művet írt, köztük egy ruszin nyelvtankönyvet és olvasókönyvet, történelmi és katekétikai munkákat. 1941-ben jelentette meg az első angol nyelvű ruszin irodalomtörténetet is.
