Biographical data
Kazimír Iványi, a Minorite priest, was born in 1906; sources differ on his place of birth, with both Győr and Resicabánya listed in his biographical records. He was ordained a priest in Arad on June 30, 1930. Between the two world wars, he served in Lugos and Arad as a catechist, pastor, and superior of his order. In 1941, he moved to New York, and later served in Hamilton and Welland among the Hungarian Catholic communities in Canada. Details of his later life are scarce, but according to his tombstone and U.S. death records, he continued his priestly ministry until his death. He passed away on September 21, 2002, in the state of Tennessee; he is buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in East Ridge.
