He graduated from high school in Budapest and earned a general machine tool operator certification. He completed his military service in Lenti. He was ordained a priest on June 15, 1991. From 1995, he served as a clerk and secretary at the Pírmási and Archdiocesan Curia. From 1997, he served as a judge on the Archdiocesan Court. He studied at Saint Paul University in Canada, where he earned a licentiate in canon law.
