Before pursuing his theological studies, he earned a degree in commercial art and design from the Cleveland Institute of Art. He later studied for the priesthood in Pennsylvania and Rome, where he attended the North American College and then graduated from the Angelicum University. He was ordained a priest in 1982. In 1993, he earned a master’s degree in counseling and human services. He served in youth ministry and as a youth pastor, as well as an art and design consultant for the Church. He has led numerous retreats and has been a guest speaker at many conferences, including World Youth Day 2002, and has spoken on numerous occasions at the NCSC. Drawing on his background in the arts, counseling, and Eastern Catholic spirituality, he applies the principles of the theology of the body to understand every aspect of human experience. He is a co-founder of www.easternchristianmedia.com and www.oltv.tv, which serve as resources for information on the Eastern Catholic Churches. He is also the host of “Light of the East Radio,” which can be heard on EWTN Radio’s affiliates, Ave Maria Radio and the Guadalupe Radio Network. He is a protopresbyter. He does not participate in Hungarian-language pastoral ministry.
