Biographical data
His mother was Mária Belucz. He began his studies in 1941 in Budapest at the Pázmány Péter Royal University, then continued them at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome from 1945 to 1951, and completed them in 1951 at the Department of Social Sciences of the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. He earned a doctorate in theology. He was ordained a priest in Rome on October 20, 1947. He served in Brazil beginning in 1953 and in the United States beginning in 1955. He returned home in 1992 and applied for diocesan ministry. He has been a papal prelate since 1994.
