Biographical data
His father was Mihály Novák, a priest, and his mother was Teréz Kontratovics. His wife was Vilma Takács, and they had two daughters. He pursued his theological studies in Uzhhorod. On January 7, 1886, he was ordained a priest by János Pásztélyi Kovács, Bishop of Munkács. In 1902, he moved to the United States.
