Biographical data
His father was Gyula Orosz, a priest, and his mother was Mária Pulszky. His wife was Mária Pogácsás-Balogh; their son, Bálint Orosz, was also a priest. He pursued his theological studies in Uzhhorod. On April 1, 1894, he was ordained a priest by Gyula Firczák, Bishop of Munkács. He resided in the United States from 1903 to 1908. He served as the Greek-rite ecclesiastical president of the Roman and Greek Catholic Association “Our Lady, Patroness of the Hungarians.”
