Biographical data
His father was János Porátunszky, and his mother was Anna Demkó. As a Basilian monk, he completed his studies at the order’s college. He took his simple vows in Máriapócs in 1906. After leaving the order, he was ordained a priest in Ungvár on June 25, 1911, as a priest of the Diocese of Munkács. He was incardinated into the Diocese of Hajdúdorog in 1912. He arrived in the United States in 1930 at the invitation of Bazil Takács.
