Biographical data
He was a student at the Cistercian High School in Budapest. He joined the Pauline Order in 1944. He studied theology in Pécs and was ordained a priest there on March 13, 1949, by Bishop Ferenc Virág. In 1950, he was sentenced to three years in prison for attempting to cross the border illegally. After his release, he worked in a shipyard. He left the country in 1956. Following his departure, he pursued graduate studies in Rome, earning a licentiate degree in 1959. He spent a year in Bern, Switzerland, and then emigrated to the United States. On March 23, 1982, he was incardinated into the Diocese of Trenton. During his time as an assistant pastor, he served as a substitute priest and celebrated Mass in Hungarian at numerous Hungarian churches (e.g., Passaic, NJ). He was involved in the treatment of addiction among clergy and was one of the founders of the Hivatásőrző Ház in Leányvár, Hungary.
