Third-generation Hungarian. His parents were Joseph J. Revak (listed as Francis Charles Revak in other sources) and Emma Hee; he has three siblings. He is a third-generation Hungarian-American priest. He completed his elementary education at St. Henry’s School in Philadelphia, his high school education at Northeast Catholic High School, and then entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. Cardinal Denis Dougherty ordained him a priest on May 18, 1940. During the early years of his priestly ministry, he served as an assistant pastor in Ashland, Northampton, Allentown, and Bethlehem. Later, he spent an extended period providing pastoral care in institutional settings, first at the Sacred Heart Sanatorium and then at Allentown Central Catholic High School. He is listed on the school’s staff as early as 1974 and later became its senior priest. He lived in Catasauqua during the 1980s and 1990s. On August 20, 1991, Pope John Paul II conferred upon him the title of papal prelate. Even after his retirement, he continued to provide pastoral assistance. He passed away on November 8, 2005, at the age of 91. A scholarship fund was established in his memory at Allentown Central Catholic High School.
