His parents were János Piff Cserepes and Mária Wölfer. He was ordained a priest on July 13, 1896. In 1902, he left his post without permission and went abroad. At that time, as a fugitivus (a clergyman who had arbitrarily left his post), he was barred from all ecclesiastical activities.
His last place of residence in Europe was Basel, Switzerland. He arrived in the United States on December 24, 1906. There is no record indicating that he performed any priestly duties there. In 1910, he was living in New York, NY, as a married man, and he died there on April 17, 1912.
