Biographical data
Vladimir Péter Molcsányi was born in 1856 in Bajorvágás to a family of priests. His father, Mihály Molcsányi, was a Greek Catholic priest, and his mother was Emília Andrejkovics. His brother, Miklós Balázs Molcsányi, was also a Greek Catholic priest.
On September 28, 1880, in Mogyoróska—now known as Mlynárovce—he married his cousin, Anna Adalberta Molcsányi. They had four children: Margit Magdolna (1882), Jolán/Jolanda (1885–1937), Stefánia Ráchel (1888–1972), and Bertha (1900–1941).
Jolanda married Bishop Péter Oreszt Csornyák, who had converted to the Orthodox faith.
He was ordained a priest in Eperjes on January 2, 1881.
From 1891 until his death, he served in the United States. His death was caused by blood poisoning resulting from a dog bite.
