Biographical data
Teodor Titusz Pálinkás, OSBM, later known as Titus Lazor, OSBM (c. 1904 – Glen Cove, New York, December 15, 1979), was a Greek Catholic Basilian monk of Hungarian and Transcarpathian descent. His secular name was Teodor Pálinkás, and his monastic name was Titusz; he is listed as Titus Lazor in North American sources. He was ordained a priest on August 23, 1931, by Bishop Jozafát Kocylowsky of Przemyśl at the Basilian monastery in Krehiv. He served at the monastery in Munkács-Csernekhegy and taught German and history to Basilian novices. In 1935, he moved to North America. In December 1937, he was staying at the Basilian monastery in Mundare, Canada, where he delivered a speech at a ceremony held in honor of Danilo Skoropadsky. He later served in the United States and became a member of the American Basilian Province, named for the Dormition of the Mother of God. He passed away in Glen Cove on December 15, 1979, in the 75th year of his life, the 56th year of his monastic vocation, and the 49th year of his priestly ministry.
