Biographical data
He attended high school in Pécs and Jászberény. He entered the Franciscan Order on August 28, 1927. He took his solemn vows on August 29, 1928, and was ordained a priest on October 15, 1933. He earned doctorates in theology and canon law. He left the country in 1950, traveling through Yugoslavia, where he was captured and interned. He escaped from there and made his way to Rome via Greece. He emigrated to the United States in 1955. He was a member of the St. Stephen Academy from 1947 and secretary of the Hungarian Catholic Academy of Sciences and Arts from 1952. He served as an ecclesiastical advisor to Actio Catholica in Exteris from 1952. He was a religious writer, newspaper editor, and one of the founders of the Anonymus publishing house. According to Kamill Varga OFM, he died in a hospital in Trento; according to the MKL, he died in Roebling, NJ.
