Biographical data
His original name was Mihály Faulhaber. He attended the Piarist High School in Szeged, where he later entered the Franciscan Order. He earned his high school diploma at the Order’s high school in Jászberény. He took his perpetual vows on August 30, 1940. He was ordained a priest on June 21, 1942. In 1944, he was severely beaten by Yugoslav partisans but survived. From 1950 to 1958, he worked as a laborer. From 1984 to 1990, he served in the United States.
