Biographical data
Dániel Sajkó was one of the Hungarian Greek Catholic priests serving in the United States in the mid-20th century. No reliable information currently exists regarding the early years of his life, his studies, the time of his ordination, or his ministry in Hungary.
According to the Yearbook of the Sunday of Hungarian Catholics, he served as a pastor in the Hungarian Greek Catholic community of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, between 1959 and 1962. In the mid-20th century, the city was an important center of Hungarian Greek Catholic life in the United States, home to a significant number of believers of Hungarian and Ruthenian descent.
His name appears exclusively during this period in sources on the Hungarian Catholic diaspora; therefore, it can be assumed that his ministry in the United States lasted for a relatively short time, or that his later activities were not documented in Hungarian-language church publications. It is currently unknown whether he served in another diocese or parish after his tenure, or when and where he passed away.
