Biographical data
His parents were Mihály Evetovics, a belt maker, and Franciska Prikidanovics; his uncle was János Evetovics (d. 1923), a priest and provost in the Diocese of Kalocsa.
He entered the Cistercian Order on August 14, 1915. He took his first vows on August 31, 1918, and his final vows on July 15, 1922; he was ordained a priest by Apostolic Nuncio Lorenzo Schioppa on July 30 of the same year.
From 1922 to 1924, he studied in Innsbruck, where he earned a doctorate in theology.
From 1949, he was a first-class member of the St. Stephen Academy. From 1938 to 1950, he served as the spiritual director of the Carmelite Sisters of the Sacred Heart, a role he continued to fulfill even during the years following the order’s dissolution. From 1948 to 1950, he also served as the celebrant of Mass at the convent of the Sisters of the Redeemer on Horánszky Street. After the dissolution, he lived with his brother at 42 János Sobieski Street in District IX. In his later years, he suffered from aortic stenosis, so he stayed in Dallas from August 1965 to April 1967 for medical treatment.
