Biographical data
He began his studies in his hometown and later attended the Jesuit college in Nagyszombat. In 1743, he began his Jesuit studies in Trencsén. In 1749, he volunteered for missionary work, and his order sent him to Spain for missionary training. From 1751, he served in Peru, where he kept detailed records of the indigenous peoples, as well as the climate and the flora and fauna of the rainforests. He was expelled in 1767. His deteriorating health took him from this world at the age of just 44.
