Biographical data
His parents were Iván Friskics, a tailor, and Jozefa Horváth, a seamstress; his cousin was Sister Assumpta Magyary, O.Cist. (†2013). He entered the Cistercian Order on August 19, 1926. He took his first vows on August 30, 1927, and his final vows on June 27, 1931. He was ordained a priest on July 5, 1931, by Kálmán Kránitz, Auxiliary Bishop of Veszprém. He earned a degree in history and Latin from Pázmány Péter Royal University. During the period of dispersion, from 1950 to 1964, he served as cantor in Vaskút. In 1964, he was granted permission to visit relatives living in New Brunswick, NJ, in the United States. At that time, he decided not to return home. He worked as a teacher, although he struggled with the English language. He transferred his vow of stability from Zirc to Dallas on January 5, 1969. He died of rapidly progressing cancer.
