Biographical data
He completed his elementary and secondary education in Szombathely. Since he was preparing to become a priest, after finishing elementary school he enrolled in the Premonstratensian St. Norbert High School, which was nationalized in 1948. He graduated in 1950. He then began studying engineering and graduated as a geophysicist in 1956. He left the country in December 1956. From 1956 to 1979, he worked as a geophysicist. On January 25, 1979, he entered the Society of Jesus. He completed his studies between 1979 and 1985 at Fordham University and Regis College in the United States. He was ordained a priest on November 19, 1983, in Toronto, ON, Canada.
