Biographical data
László István Galambos, known in English as Stephen Laszlo Galambos, O.F.M., was born on March 29, 1940, in Hungary, presumably in Szeged. His family emigrated to the United States in 1956. In 1989, he entered the formation program of the Hungarian Franciscan Custody of St. Stephen the King and completed his novitiate in Catskill, New York, as part of the Immaculate Conception Province. He was received into the Order on September 4, 1990, and made his first vows on August 5, 1991. After the dissolution of the Hungarian Custody, he became a member of the Immaculate Conception Province in January 1993. He was ordained a priest on September 14, 1996, and later served as a chaplain and in a vicar-general capacity in various locations. In 2012, he also appeared as a preacher in California, in the vicinity of Our Lady Help of Christians Chapel. Toward the end of his life, he belonged to the community at St. Christopher Friary in Boston. He passed away on September 9, 2022, while receiving hospice care; his funeral was held on September 14, 2022, at St. Francis Cemetery in Andover, Massachusetts.

According to some sources, he firmly rejected the liturgical decisions of the Second Vatican Council and joined the Society of St. Pius X, within which he was ordained a priest on September 14, 1996. Because he repeatedly showed disobedience toward the Catholic Church, he was suspended on several occasions.
