Biographical data
He entered the Benedictine Order on August 6, 1938. He took his final vows on June 27, 1943. He was ordained a priest on May 2, 1944. He earned a degree in Hungarian and German from a secondary school teacher training college. Between 1951 and 1953, he studied at the Pázmány Péter Academy of Theology and earned a doctorate in theology. He pursued postgraduate studies at the University of St. Anselm in Rome from 1966 to 1967. He played a role in the 1956 Revolution and then fled to Austria. He first served as a chaplain at the refugee camp in Traiskirchen, where large numbers of Hungarians arrived during the revolution, and then served as principal of the Hungarian high school in Burg Kastl from 1957 to 1966. From 1969 to 1981, he was a religion teacher in Oberschützen and a Hungarian chaplain in Oberwart (Oberwart). From 1977 to 2002, he served as parish priest in Alsóőr (Unterwart). From 1981, he also taught religion for four years at the Commercial Academy and the Higher Vocational School in Felsőőr. From 2002, he lived in Pannonhalma as a retired pastor.
