Biographical data

He completed his novitiate in Banská Bystrica in 1716–1717. He later worked within the Jesuit educational network; his name appears in the historical records of the Jesuit high school and teacher training college associated with the Spiš Chapter.
His name resembles that of another Jesuit missionary, so there is a possibility of confusion, as he can easily be mistaken for Johann / János Grueber SJ, a Chinese–Tibetan missionary who lived from 1623 to 1680, was born in Linz, and worked in China and Tibet.
