Biographical data

He attended elementary school in Pestújhely and later in Székesfehérvár. He completed his secondary education at the Cistercian high school in Székesfehérvár. On September 1, 1945, he entered the Society of Jesus. After completing his novitiate, he was sent to Rome to teach. From 1947 to 1950, he completed his studies in philosophy, and in 1950–51, he taught German and served as a form teacher at the Jesuit college in Mondragone, near Frascati. From 1951 to 1953, he served as deputy head of the student congregation at the Jesuit school in Innsbruck; he was then sent to study theology in São Leopoldo, Brazil, which he completed from 1953 to 1956, during which time he was ordained a priest on December 3, 1954. In January 1960, he left the order. He then settled in the Federal Republic of Germany, where he worked as an export manager.
