Biographical data
His parents were Domonkos Kis Horváth and Mária Hadarics. He entered the Cistercian Order in Zirc on August 29, 1947. He took his first vows on August 30, 1948. From 1948 to 1950, he was a theology student in Zirc. He organized the Cistercians’ escape to the West, for which he spent several years in prison in Vác. He took his perpetual vows in prison before Lénárd Barta, O.Cist, on August 30, 1954. From 1954 to 1956, he served as sacristan at St. Rita Church in Budapest. He left the country on July 21, 1957. He left the country in 1956. He was a theology student in Rome. On July 21, 1957, he was ordained a priest by Coadjutor Bishop Franz Žak of St. Pölten in the abbey church in Zwettl. In 1960, he moved to the United States.
