Biographical data
He attended high school at the Benedictine school in Győr, then studied for the priesthood in Győr as a diocesan seminarian. He was ordained a priest on June 15, 1978. He served his novitiate in the Order of Mercy in Austria, then has lived in the United States since 1984, where he is a member of the Transylvanian Hungarian St. Stephen Custody. Even after its dissolution, he remained in the United States as a member of the Franciscan Province named after King St. Stephen. He took his solemn vows in 1988. He is the American delegate of Bishop Ferenc Cserháti and the North American delegate of the Hungarian Catholic Pastoral Ministry Abroad. After Bishop Cserháti’s retirement, Gábor Mohos, Auxiliary Bishop of Esztergom-Budapest and coordinator entrusted with the pastoral care of Hungarians abroad, confirmed him in his position. Since 1987, he has been a member of the National Defense Division of the Order of Vitéz and a recipient of the Knight’s Cross of the Society and Order of St. László. From 1992 to the present, he has served as president of the Capistran Youth Foundation Inc., NY (Kapisztrán Ifjúsági Alapítvány), a charitable organization. Since 1997, he has been a member of the Knights of Columbus. Recipient of the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (2011). Since 2012, chaplain of the Knights of Malta (U.S. – Hungarian delegation).
