Biographical data
He entered the order on May 25, 1944. He took his first vows on May 25, 1946, and his perpetual vows on April 19, 1949. He was ordained a priest on July 10, 1949. At the invitation of Emil Jordán, he arrived in Brazil in 1967 and became prior in 1981. He was elected abbot in 1989. He was a leading figure in CIMBRA (Conference of Monastic Orders of Brazil) and UMLA (Latin American Conference of Monastic Orders). He laid the groundwork for the founding of the St. Joseph Monastery in Itapecerica da Serra. Toward the end of his life, he withdrew completely from public life. He was the brother of Ervin Sándor Linka, OSB. Under the code name “Lesage,” he served as an informant for the state security services for many years.
