Biographical data
He had six siblings. He had known the Jesuits since childhood and received his First Communion in their church. He worked at Manréza beginning in 1947, and then entered the order on February 2, 1950. He completed his novitiate in Manréza. After being dispersed, he first served as a sacristan at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Pest, then was arrested on charges of harboring a criminal and failing to report a crime. From September 14, 1951, he spent six months in a labor camp. He took his vows on March 3, 1952. From 1952 to 1954, he performed forced labor in Miskolc, Badacsonytomaj, Szentkirályszabadja, Tatabánya, and Komló. After his release, he trained to become a chef. He left the country in 1956.
