His parents were Ferenc Simon, a printer, and Mária Majzer. He completed his high school studies at the Ybl Miklós Realschule in Székesfehérvár. He entered the order on August 29, 1932; he took his first vows on August 30, 1933, and his perpetual vows on June 23, 1939. He was ordained a priest by Győző Horváth, Auxiliary Bishop of Kalocsa, on June 29, 1939. He graduated from the Péter Pázmány Royal University with a degree in physical geography, but also earned a basic degree in Hungarian language and literature. Before his emigration, he was a sought-after orator, and numerous radio sermons are associated with his name. On March 20, 1949, he left Hungary by swimming across the Rába River and then spent three weeks in Rein. After a brief stay in Rome, he arrived in the United States on October 20. At the 1953 General Chapter, he served as one of the delegates from the Zirc Congregation. He earned a degree in chemistry from St. Louis University. Beginning in 1960, he also worked on the development of computer networks. In 1979, he suffered a stroke and retired from teaching.
